Memorial Weekend Getaway

After church on Sunday morning, we headed to Chicago for a fun family getaway. Our first stop was Navy Pier for a picnic lunch. We had planned to rent a surrey to bike along the lakefront, but it was a tad bit too chilly and windy. So, we enjoyed walking through the indoor shopping, entertainment areas of the pier. We watched John the Tall Juggler Guy.

Walked through the rooftop Crystal Gardens

Then we drove up along the coast and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery as we drove to our hotel in Mettawa, IL. The boys all went swimming as soon as we arrived. Then we headed back up to our room for a "pizza and pajama" party. The next morning we ate a quick breakfast.

Yum, yum!

Then, while Mommy packed up to leave, Daddy entertained the boys in the hotel recreation area with a game of pool.
Michael especially had a blast shooting hoops outdoors...

After packing up, we drove a few miles further north to the Prime Outlets of Pleasant Prairie in Kenosha, WI. We had a great day shopping and finding some fun bargains! We stopped in Gurnee for dinner at Outback Steakhouse before heading home. We all loved having a couple of days just have fun and hang out with Daddy.
