Tonight as we started down the road on our way to church, lil J instructed, "Mommy, you need to hit the road." Convinced that I had heard him incorrectly, I said, "I need to do what?". He responded, "Grammy hit the road. Mommy, you need to hit it." I chuckled and thought, I need to call Grammy for some clarification.
Grammy later explained that as they were concluding their visit with Aunt Jeannie yesterday, she said, "Okay boys, it's time to hit the road." I guess Jonathan had given her a kind of puzzled look at the time.
This story kind of reminds me of the crazy interpretations of Amelia Bedelia in the story books I read as a child!
