This morning we boarded a ferry for Martha's Vineyard. The weather was absolutely spectacular. This was the boys first time on a ferry and to say they were excited would be a gross understatement.

We arrived at the Vineyard Haven port and took a 2 1/2 hour tour bus around the island. The scenery was lovely. Here is a picture of the Gay Head Lighthouse in Aquinnah.

We enjoyed lunch and shopping in Edmonton. It was our favorite spot on the island...classic New England shops and boutiques. Most places were closed for the season, but there were a few spots open. The window shopping was fun nonetheless. Most of the island is only open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day.

It was a wonderful day, which ended with a return ferry ride back to Woods Hole, MA. The boys were still very full of life on the ferry ride back and so of course they enjoyed socializing the entire trip. By the time we reached the mainland, there were more than a dozen people, smiling and waving, "Goodbye, Jonathan. Goodbye, Michael" as we walked off the ferry. It was a very special ending to a very special day.
